It was important in the design of this project to constantly and adhere to the core values of The Ministry of Health and Social Services. These include confidentiality, empathy and caring, transparency and accountability, honesty, integrity and dignity, impartiality, professionalism, respect, innovation and creativity, customer focus. The user client was closely consulted to achieve the intended functional objectives of the facility.
The architecture was sympathetic to the hot climate in Rehoboth, providing a generous covered outside waiting area. A central interior waiting area with high level windows providing the main means of connection between various screening rooms, consultation rooms as well as the multi-purpose room which serves as the main community health educational platform. A soup kitchen was also provided to give supplementary feeding to needy children in the neighborhood. The overall facility is in low maintenance materials painted in bright welcoming earthly colors.
