Project Name: House Nahum
Client: Mr. and Mrs. Nahum
Location: Windhoek, Namibia
Project Cost: N$ 8 Million
Nestled in the quite residential suburb of Klein Windhoek, the new house is positioned on the main road with a river on the eastern side to give an amusing view for the would be owners.
The Architect took advantage of the client’s straightforward request for spacious rooms, external light and the geometry shape of a cube to play with solid, controlled facades as-well-as softer facades which allow for maximum sunlight. The solid walls were effectively used to conceal the concerned neighbours privacy. Other privacy constraints were met by providing a separate function for each cube.
Prominent features of the house include textured concrete walls, I beams, a double-volume dining area and entrance foyer, oversized windows and a specially designed floating steel roof truss to match the emphasized floating stairs.
